Fr. Jerry Thompson is a Roman Catholic Priest working for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He studied Liberal Arts and received his Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia and graduated from Saint John’s Seminary Camarillo, California with a Master’s in Divinity. Fr. Jerry has a background in counseling psychology as well.
He resides at Saint Bruno Parish in Whittier, CA. He is 20 years ordained and was ordained by Cardinal Roger Mahony in 1994 at the former St. Vibiana Cathedral in Los Angeles and has served in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and as a hospital chaplain.
Fr. Thompson is a member of the Confraternity of Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mary and Joseph with Father Michael Sears, George Reynolds and other priests of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Fr. Thompson has been involved in the Charismatic Renewal since the 1980's prior to being ordained. He has been a guest speaker at the SCRC Convention in Anaheim as well as the celebrant for Masses and Healing services for the youth tract. He has been involved in LIFE Teen Ministry and given youth retreats.
Fr. Jerry celebrates charismatic masses, healing services, days of recollections, conferences and Lenten missions in the Los Angeles Archdiocese as well and other Dioceses through out the United States. Fr. Thompson who has a great devotion to our Blessed Mother also is a Spiritual director for pilgrimages though out the year and organizes and walks the Way of Saint James to Santiago de Compostela yearly with a group of Pilgrims.
